Number One Does It Again

Number one restaurant has again been awarded a prestigious Michelin star, further strengthening its position as one of Edinburgh's top restaurants. Over the past 12 months Jeff Bland, Executive Chef at The Balmoral and the team at number one have gone from strength to strength seeing business increase by a phenomenal 15%.

Number one is currently the only hotel restaurant in Edinburgh to hold such an accolade, based on The Michelin Guide's recognition of high-quality cuisine, as well as consistent service, comfort and a warm welcome for their customers.

Indeed, 2004 was an extremely successful year for Jeff Bland and his team. Following the Michelin Star in January 2004, Jeff and the team at number one have been awarded Icons of Scotland Award in the Scottish Food and Drink category, The Scottish Hotel Restaurant of the Year by HotelReviewScotland.com in April and The Great Hotel Restaurant of the Year by Hotels Magazine USA in August. Number one has subsequently enjoyed excellent reviews, which have featured in leading newspapers and publications both in the UK and Internationally.

Number One looks forward to another busy year and welcoming back its Edinburgh-based customers, as well as new guests to The Balmoral.
