The Balmoral Picks Up Award Of Excellence For Afternoon Tea

Rocco Forte Hotels’s The Balmoral has received a prestigious Award of Excellence from the UK Tea Guild for Afternoon Tea at Palm Court.

Long considered the ‘Michelin Star’ of the tea world, the accolade was awarded in recognition of the outstanding quality and consistently high standards in tea service at The Balmoral.

The Tea Guild awards, now in their 26th year sees the best tea rooms in the UK competing for the hugely coveted honour. The Balmoral was one of only two Scottish Afternoon Tea establishments to receive the award for 2011.

Commenting on the highly acclaimed accolade, Manager of Palm Court, Jennifer Beaton, said:

“The Balmoral Afternoon Tea in Palm Court is modern and stylish and the perfect way to finish a shopping day or celebrate a special occasion. It is a great honour to receive this award for the third consecutive year from the UK’s top tea experts.”

The news comes as Palm Court launches a special Royal Afternoon Tea to celebrate the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton.

Featuring only the best British produce, the Royal Afternoon Tea will give guests a taste of royal life in the plush surroundings of Palm Court. The quintessentially British finger sandwiches feature Cornish Crab, Highland Smoked Salmon and Blairgowrie Beef and are followed by sweet classics such as Honey Scones and English Madeleines.

The Royal Afternoon Tea is £23 per person and will run from Monday 11th April until Sunday 1st May. A Royal Champagne Afternoon Tea with a glass of Bollinger Special Cuvee is £37 per person. The Balmoral Afternoon Tea is served daily from 1.30pm to 5.30pm in Palm Court, accompanied by a harpist from 2.30 to 5.00pm from Wednesday to Sunday.
