An overview of our Conference and Banqueting Rooms:
The Sir Walter Scott Suite
Undoubtedly one of the most impressive of banqueting suites in the city, The Sir Walter Scott, located on the ground floor, has magnificent views of Edinburgh Castle. The Suite has retained 15 original chandeliers that date back to the hotel's opening in 1902, composing the largest collection of hand- painted chandeliers in Europe. The Suite was fully refurbished in 2004 and boasts two specially-commissioned murals, gold leaf detail around the columns and a beautiful neutral décor. The Sir Walter Scott can accommodate up to 350 people theatre-style, 450 for cocktails and 280 guests for a dinner dance.
The Holyrood Suite
The Holyrood Suite, situated on the ground floor of The Balmoral, has large rectangular windows that offer spectacular views of Edinburgh Castle and The Old Town, while allowing natural daylight to flood in. Design highlights include some original chandeliers and ornate cornicing. The Holyrood Suite can accommodate up to 120 delegates for a conference and 200 guests for cocktails.
The Waverley Suite
Next door, The Waverley Suite has large windows on one side with views of The Old Town and Arthur's Seat. It can be used as a syndicate room in conjunction with the Holyrood Suite or for pre-dinner drinks. The room is suitable for up to 70 guests theatre style, 40 guests in "U" shape seating or up to 60 guests for a dinner.
The Princes Suite
The Princes Suite overlooks the busy street after which it is named. A magnificent fireplace, along with original chandeliers and beautiful cornicing, provide a wonderful setting for a variety of occasions, including 120 guests for cocktails and 60 people theatre-style.
Second Floor Suites
On the second floor, there are six rooms, all of which face Edinburgh Castle. They are ideal for meetings, breakfast and lunch presentations, dinners, press conferences and cocktail parties. All have period details such as original cornicing and fireplaces that blend well with the neutral colours and contemporary style.
