The Balmoral Bar

The Balmoral Bar is Edinburgh's most elegant and stylish bar, located within the city's most prestigious address – 1 Princes Street.

Formerly known as NB's, The Balmoral Bar has been transformed by Rocco Forte Hotels' Director of Design – Olga Polizzi - who created a chic and modern destination bar for locals and visitors alike.

The Bar is adorned with plush purple velvet and vibrant moss-green leather chairs and banquettes, complemented by natural fabrics such as linen and tweed in warm Scottish tones.

The contemporary bar is the ultimate in bespoke bar design and provides a stunning focus with backlit acetates individually designed by Austrian artist Hubertus Hohenlohe creating a striking sense of theatre. The modern, but chilled-out background music, perfect for lounging, is delivered through a state of the art Bose sound system.

The focus of the bar menu is on originality and classics with a twist.  The cocktails are shaken and stirred to perfection, using only the finest ingredients.

The menu features a collection of innovative signature cocktails which change regularly, using fresh and seasonal ingredients such as the morello mojito and our champagne strawberry lush. In addition, the bar offers a fine selection of vintage champagnes, single malt whiskies and different international and local brews.

The team at The Balmoral Bar have also developed a first of its kind, The Cocktail Tasting Menu. Derived from the idea of Michelin starred chefs giving the guest a sampling of the finest and most seasonal of ingredients, here it has been adapted in liquid form. Since its inception, it has been very well received and is suitable for all types of occasions.

Booking for the tasting menu is not required, however it is recommended.
